Why Choose Drayton Daisy Chain Pre-School ?

Our passionate staffing team consists of highly qualified and experienced Early Years Practitioners including a Qualified Teacher, providing the children in our care with the best education to help them reach their full potential. As a ‘pack away pre-school’ our setting is constantly adapting to suit the needs and interests of all our children and allows us to provide many stimulating and exciting opportunities within both our inside and outside learning environments.

Playroom

Our main playroom is bright and open planned with specific dedicated spaces for each area of the Early Years curriculum. For example sensory/messy play, investigation area, mark making, role play and construction. Within the room we have our own easily accessible children’s toilets and sink to help encourage independence and toilet training. As a ‘pack away’ pre-school we are able to introduce adult led activities and child initiated resources within the environment that change weekly, influenced through our observations of children learning through play. Some of our themes that follow the interests of our individual children are ‘Frozen’, jungle, farm, shops and many more.

Outside

Our room has access to our own safe and secure purpose built outside area, allowing the children opportunities to freely choose to play inside or out during the pre-school day. Wet pour rubber surfacing has been installed and there is plenty of room for the children to safely run and climb on the tyres, slides and other equipment giving opportunities for physical growth and development. We also have waterproof trousers and wellies for the children to use so that our popular digging area and mud kitchen can be used all year round, embracing all seasonal weather conditions.

Garden

Within the garden we have our own growing area which the children help to look after all year round. We plant seeds and look at how they grow and change and enjoy planting fruit and vegetables which we can harvest and eat for our snack. We also use our outdoor grass area for large team games and during groups lead by outside providers such as our Active8 Minds sessions.

Community

We are very fortunate to be set within the heart of the Drayton and Farlington community and therefore have strong links with our local Church, businesses, schools and elderly care home. Every year we are invited to the Church for special events such as the Harvest Festival and Easter, we also perform our special traditional Nativity performance to our families within the Church at Christmas. We often go for walks to the local shops, schools and Hamilton House care home where we take part in arts and crafts activities and singing with the elderly people who live there.

With this knowledge we are able to provide the children at our pre-school with stimulating and exciting play experiences whilst furthering their development. We believe that our setting promotes children’s social skills, allowing them to enjoy making friendships and connections with others and therefore having a positive impact on their well-being.

With our highly qualified staffing team we are confident in our ability to promote all children’s holistic development following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. We provide engaging learning opportunities suited to the children’s individual needs to help them develop in all areas and in preparation for school. We believe it is important for the children to have real and active learning experiences to encourage them to think, talk, question and grow in independence.
